You have to see alcohol for what it is…
A LIAR.
~
It says,
‘Look at me’…
A cold reprieve, boasting of its condensation it claims your hands MUST feel…
And relentlessly reminding you how ‘ohhh so gooood’ that first taste and swallow, truly is.
~
There is nothing like it.
It sparkles…✨
Drawing us into its glimmer-coated madness.
~
It says…
‘You’re here to have fun…
And *I* am the headliner to your fun.’
‘With me, you will reach that peak’…
‘If you keep drinking’…
‘Just keep drinking’…
‘A crescendo is coming,
and it will all be because of me.’
~
It says…
‘Without me,
there is no peak.
No crescendo.
No fun.’
~
Or it says…
‘There is no purpose anymore’…
Telling us to do something we shouldn’t…
And to overall give up trying at life.
~
Well here’s to THE LIAR…🖕
We know of its wicked game.
And we only believe the lies when we give THE LIAR control…
Which happens, when our lips and tongues remain strictly subservient to our eyes.
~
So this is when you close them.
This is when you cave into yourself instead… And not into the lies.
Shedding the coat of dependency…
And putting on the suit of wisdom.
~
Leaving THE LIAR takes courage.
And it comes with surges and currents you must past through, in order to land among your oasis.
There are times to choose the current…
Because while you’re in the tossing and turning, you know your oasis awaits among the landing.
And it is here…
In beating THE LIAR at its game.
You MUST take your mind and run fast towards anything else…
Staying ahead of THE LIAR.
Who is not as fast a runner.

Stay onto it…
Put your mind to the end game, daily.
Remove your thoughts from the immediate…
Because that is where the lies live…
In the immediate.
~
Wisdom asks…
Do I want the oasis?
Or do I want the pit of vipers?
And we know how wisdom answers…
~
Proverbs 23:31–32~
“Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly; At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper.”
